Whilst I wanted to write something interesting for the New Year, fate has seen fit to make it otherwise. Following on from the previous, blog I have to report attending yet ANOTHER road accident. This time Tree and I were travelling on the A449 just before the M5 Junction 6 when we saw a motorcyclist lying in the road. He had been hit from behind by a man in a BMW who had not seen him in front of him. Tree got talking to the rider, Sam, who seems okay but in shock. He wanted to move but Tree made him stay still until the ambulance arrived. Although we weren't first at the scene, it was amazing how many people were standing around and no-one had phoned the Police. Tree asked a woman to get on her mobile to do this and got a reply of," what number do I dial". Are people careless as well as dense nowadays?Anyway, we left after about half an hour and both driver and rider seemed shocked rather than hurt.
I am so glad I live with someone who is a doer and not a panicker in these situations!
