Surfs Up Dude.

Seeing the weather was looking a bit better and being in need of another holiday, even for a long weekend, Tree, Matzo, Germaine, Mike, Kate and I went down to Croyde to catch some sun and sea. Germaine hadn't been in the sea in this country, having only experienced the warmer waters of the Caribbean Sea, and was game for giving it a go. The surf wasn't too high but we managed to get a couple of hours out of it. I got too cold and had one of my turns which Tree wasn't too happy about, as I know they worry her. Mike didn't have any sun cream on and ended up looking like the proverbial lobster. We spent most of the evenings just relaxing and taking it easy ( I wasn't fit for much else). Germaine creased us up with his inimitable way of putting things and looked like he was riding a huge inflatable Vagina a lot of the time.(See photo). I recovered quite well, enough to pack everything away on Sunday at least, and was glad of having Monday off as well. We were so lucky with the weather seeing as it rained on Thursday and then stayed fine until the moment we got home!!

I have promised Tree I will go back to the doctors again to sort out my blackouts once and for all.

Camping it up in Cornwall.

We decided to grab a few days in Cornwall camping but, as we went to Tony Ballard's funeral on Monday, we didn't get away until Tuesday. The weather was good to us in that it stopped briefly when we got there so we could get the tent up and then started again, promptly, straight after. Out of the whole trip we managed one fine day and made use of every second of it. We also found a restaurant that serves children ON the menu. Someone wasn't paying attention at advertising school, weren't they? We also made friends with a baby Starling that sat with us, waiting patiently until we were finished, to grab the crumbs leftover - cute. By Friday the rain had set well in so we decamped and went to see Joy in her new shop. She is doing really well and has no regrets in moving at all. I think a trip to sunny India is on the cards if the weather doesn't get better here!!!

Hoorah for broadband!!

At last, I finally got my arse into gear and sorted out broadband for the shop. Not too momentus an occasion, you might think, but I have contact with the outside world again. Sadly it will not all be game playing and surfing for me as I will have to get the virtual shop up and running as well. The shop is looking a lot better now I have put in the shelving, as you can see from the photos, and we are getting a lot of new stock in soon. With business being quieter this time of year, Tree and I are thinking of taking a month off work next year and travelling instead. We may as well take advantage of the situation!!

More India photos

These photos are of the Park Hyatt Hotel and Anjuna Market. As I mostly recorded the trip on my digi video, the photos don't show too much. The hotel was surrounded by one big swimming pool, the biggest in India, and as you walked round, you crossed it by a series of bridges. Outside of our rooms was a lagoon with a view to the sea on our right.
Anjuna market was complete madness with everyone hassling, shouting or begging for you to buy. After a while you became immune to the mayhem. The sound of people saying "Na, Na, Na", which means no in Hindi was everywhere you went. However, when considering that you can buy a T-shirt for £1 or incense for 9p, it was a fantastic experience.
