Litha blessings to you all !!
This weekend saw the Summer Solstice on Saturday. Unfortunately, we were in the middle of a "Hooley", as the Cornish call it, and so visibility was down to a few feet. We celebrated anyway as best we could and were blessed with the return of the sun by Sunday. May the sun shine gently wherever you travel.
I wish it had stopped raining.

Tree and I went to Bodmin for the 3 Wishes Faery Festival over the weekend. We arrived and set up in sunshine but from then on it just rained, rained and rained some more. The turn out was a lot lower as a result but those that came made sure that spirits weren't dampened. The highlight of the weekend was meeting up with Peter Procownik and his partner Nicola Lydon. I have long been a fan of Pete's artwork, and music, so I was well pleased to come home with some of their artwork. In addition, a mention goes to all other stall holders including Rupert (Arthur's Stone), Caroline, Jen, Tarvis and Pete (pictured looking very proud of his wooden mushrooms). Last but not least, I couldn't forget the Goblin Doctors even though I threatened to report them to the "Elf" authorities for mal-practice.

A lesson to be learned

I was going to write about how busy, as ever, I am and how everything seems to happen at once. The thing is that there isn't really any point in worrying or moaning about one's lot but rather that we should just get on with it. My motivation for thinking this way comes from a seagull no less. When I catch the train to Ledbury I sit at the far end of platform 2 directly opposite the building works that are going on behind platform 1. Since work began I have noticed a seagull that is nesting on the top of the wall opposite. Twice this bird has had its nest moved by workmen and still it comes back and tends to it's young. Only this morning workmen were standing almost on top of it trying to manoeuvre a stud wall into place and still it sits there. The lesson to be learned is that no matter what life throws at us we should just carry on. Things are far worse elsewhere in the world and we am luckier than we think.

I should know better.
Not a lot to report, after the washout that was last weekend, other than the mysterious bites have finally healed. We had a stall at the 3 counties flea fair last Monday and spent most of the day watching gazebos and stalls go flying past the doors as the wind caught them.Good job we didn't plump for an outside stall!!
I have almost finished the van now and have only to install the 4-way speaker system so we can have some cool sounds while we travel to the festies.
Oh..and I almost got myself in big trouble! Whilst clearing up the shop I came across a present that Al gave me. Typically being Al it was something stupid, namely, a disembodied arm. Well, I was on the train when the guard asked me for my ticket. Not realising my bag was part open, I handed him my ticket and he hurried away to the next carriage. After a few minutes he came back and told me that he had been in two minds as to whether I should have the Police waiting for me at Worcester platform. It was only after he thought about it that he realised what, in fact, was in my bag. Good job I'm not Brazilian and wearing black is all I can say!!!

Something is really bugging me.
Well yes, something is literally bugging me. After our return from Tiddesley Wood I started to get a slight itch on my back. Within a day this had become an intense burning sensation and I started to come up in lumps. Tree counted 11 bites in total. After a week of putting creams on, taking Piriton and using E45 I decided to go to the doctors. The doctor had to call in another doctor for a second opinion as he hadn't seen bites like these before. After a long debate they were none the wiser about what had bitten me but both agreed I should be on Antibiotics, which I hate taking, and an Antihistamine as the bites were now infected. This has left me more than pee'ed off as I am usually the one that bugs and mosquitoes leave alone. Oh well, they're obviously making up for lost time!!! The photo shows a few of the bites AFTER they were cooling down, so you can imagine what they were like at the hottest!!!

Tiddesley Wood and the rain.
Hoorah! I can relax, sort of, now we have done the show. We arrived on Saturday evening and nearly went straight back home. The wood was well boggy and, even with wood chips down, the ground was like a huge sponge oozing mud. We set to putting up the tent and Tree thought it would be easier if the van was nearer to the pitch. At this point I must say that I knew this was a bad idea, but left her to it. Minutes later and the van was stuck in huge ruts of mud. I dug out the wheels but we couldn't get any traction. Lucky for us there was the man, with his Romany caravan, who had a tractor. This made light work of pulling us out and we resumed pitching up, saying no more about it. It was now getting dark and we just finished before the last edge of light sank below the horizon. We were the only people staying in the wood overnight apart from the caravan guy, and his two friends, who were pitched in the field outside. We settled down for the night, listening to music, played by the guys in the field. One was playing the fiddle and the other a mandolin. In the background, a Vixen howled every once in a while. It was quite magical.
I awoke early to hear my first cuckoo of Spring and the call of a rookery sounding out around the woods. By now it was raining and we had doubts about the whole show. As other stallholders arrived the consensus was that we would only take money from each other, as no-one else would show up. 10 a.m came and went with no sign of a rush. 11 a.m and the rain eased a bit but we hadn't taken more than £20. But we had underestimated the wellie brigade and all of a sudden we were busy with people everywhere. By the end of the day we had taken more than last year!!! Result.
In view of this, Tree and I may go back to doing the festies full time instead of the shop, but time will tell.

Busy, busy, busy

The title says it all, as I am making mirrors, wands and stuff like crazy. I still took time out though for Pip's birthday and we (Me, Tree, Pip and Murali) went out for a meal to celebrate. It was a bit of a double celebration as it was Murali's birthday on the 30th as well. We had a lovely meal with, the now famous, Mango lassie that is the best you will ever taste. Better than in India!! Pip's cake was so thick in chocolate it took a few good goes just to cut through it and you couldn't eat more than one slice.
On another note, Tree and I have been accepted to Beautiful Days festie and are seriously considering doing the full festie circuit next year. It would mean closing the shop but, in the current economic climate, that may make sense. We shall wait and see!

Bella Italia!

Tree and I have not long returned from our trip to Venice for her 40th birthday celebration. We had a good time, getting in a lot of walking, and are glad to be back home. Venice is a lovely city but I wouldn't recommend staying for more than a few days as you can take in most of it in a good weekend. It is an expensive place and the locals take every opportunity to inflate prices for the tourist trap. I wouldn't mind but a lot of it is not worth anything to start with. The most ridiculous place to go is Harry's Bar. A club sandwich is 45 Euros (£39). That has got to be one mother of a sandwich for that price!! Some people we know had lunch for four, upstairs in the expensive bit where the menus have no prices marked, and got a bill for over £1000!! There is Murano glass everywhere you go, most of which is imported in from China, and carnival mask shops. We took a trip to Murano and decided to buy a small piece of glass, direct from the foundry where at least we would know it was genuine. We took a trip to the Lido and got on a bus. We were trying to get to Malomocca, a small picturesque village, but ended up going straight through it. Next thing we were going up a ramp and onto a ferry before we could get off. At the other side we drove for miles, with the roadside turning from houses to rougher houses and then a shipyard. At every stop rougher people got on and Tree had a guy with a deep scar, right across the back of his head, sit in front of her. At this point she noticed in the guide that the next stop was in an area where the people were described as "relatively lawless". Needless to say, we stayed on the bus and went back to the ferry pronto. Altogether not bad for 1.80 Euros!!
I must also add that Venice is not good for veggies as the food is all geared towards meat eaters. Hoever we did find, possibly, Venice's only veggie restaurant. Sadly it was on the day before we left!!!
When we got back to Blighty, we went down to see Joy and Nige for a few days and chill. Tree and I enjoyed some nice weather and spent a lot of time on the beach and went hunting for some places to move to.
Now comes the rush as I get ready for the first show of the year at Tiddesley Wood!
P.s Well done to Dan for completing the marathon and don't forget it is not too late to make a donation.

Run, Dan, Run

Well time is flying, as ever it does, and I am up to my neck in the proverbial work. Tree has been busy as well making her weaving sticks and door wedges.
We are taking a week off though, to go to Venice for Tree's 40th and then on to Cornwall to see Joy, Nige and the tribe. A very welcome break indeed.
I also want to give a quick mention to Dan, who is running in the Marathon on Sunday, and wish him every success in finishing in good time. Go visit his site here and make a donation - no excuses, even a pound will do!!

Otherwise, I have been getting back in touch with Pip, my eldest daughter, and this has made me very happy. I always feared that Tree was wrong, when she was optimistic about us seeing each other again, and had almost given up hope. Pip has left home and lives with her boyfriend Murali. Tree and I bumped into Pip in the Shambles just before New Year and a few weeks ago I got a call out of the blue. We have met up a couple of times since and things are back to normal between us. It has always been so painful to me that we lost contact but we both recognise that circumstances prevented it being otherwise. Anyway, she is a free minded, independent person now with a lovely bloke beside her (Murali, not me you fool) and the future is very bright.
I am now officially the shortest one in the family as Pip, Elliott and Gideon are all taller than me!!

A pain in the leg!!

I recently had the misfortune to fall from the train, not while it was moving I hasten to add, at Worcester Foregate St station. I felt a twinge in my leg but thought it would go away after a bit of flexing. Wrong!! The pain intensified over the next few days and reached critical on Sunday after I did a 3 mile walk round Pitchcroft. Basically, I have been told I have what is known as Shin Splints. This is where the tendon, connecting to the shin muscle is torn away, and the muscle attachment to the shin is damaged. The pain is like someone is kicking you in the shins non-stop. I have to rest it as much as possible and keep it strapped up. A bit of a problem when you consider that I walk to the train and the shop everyday. If it doesn't improve in a week I will have to have my lower leg put in plaster to restrict the movement. Great!! Just in time for Venice and the festies. I won't let it stop me though. It's more of a pain in the arse than anything!!

Oh F**k or let's forget the Uffington Horse

Following on from my post about the charms of quaint rural town and villages like Colwall, I have to report on the latest addition to the hills around Ledbury. We all know the Uffington horse carved in the chalk hillside, and the Cearn giant even more, but Ledbury was obviously feeling left out. So a kind farmer has carved the words "OH F**K" in the hillside as you come down from British Camp. You can just about see it from the road but the best viewpoint is from the hills or on the train. I have tried to capture a photo of it, but they all come out a bit blurry due to the movement of the train and the use of a zoom lens. To help see it better I have posted two photos of which one has the lettering overlaid to make it clearer. So, next time your bored on a weekend, take a trip to the hills and feel the warmth of a truly rural welcome.

Happy Eostre!!
What a day for getting up on the hills and experiencing Mother Nature at her best! It was so windy today I saw a sheep get blown over on the hillside and, trust me, sheep look very funny when they just keel over and just get right back up again. If this wind keeps up I will be out tomorrow hunting for the usual windfall of timber. As long as it doesn't snow too hard later, as I don't want to get stuck in the shop, I will go for a long walk down by the river. Apart from that, I am just busy as ever working towards the upcoming festies and shows. So not much to report really! The diet is going well and I have lost 2 stone and 3lbs in eleven weeks, with just one stone to go, and I have been stuffing my face as much as ever. Just shows what a little adjustment in diet and exercise can do. Tree has been doing okay on it as well. We've also been eating out 4 times in the last two weeks and still lost weight! Anyway, enough about that, here's an apt poem I remember from Spike Milligan.
Granny
Through every nook and every cranny
Granny
Through every nook and every cranny
The wind blew in on poor old Granny
Around her knees, into each ear(And up nose as well, I fear)
All through the night the wind grew worse
It nearly made the vicar curse
The top had fallen off the steeple
Just missing him (and other people)
It blew on man, it blew on beast
It blew on nun, it blew on priest
It blew the wig off Auntie Fanny-
But most of all, it blew on Granny!

Welcome to Colwall. You'll never leave.

Ordinarily I would have posted this in the Prof's Wyrde World but thought it was better here. On my way to work on the train, I pass through the sleepy village of Colwall. Picturesque, with it's 16th century cottages, the majestic Malvern Hills, British Camp and bottled mineral water. But look closer and what do we see. Is that a bloody hand print on the station sign? Who's blood is that and, more importantly, where's the body? That's what I want to know. Hardly a good invitation to get off the train and see the rest of the village. "Come to Colwall and get stabbed" it should say on the tourist notice board!!

Annual catch up time.
It was about this time last year that I found myself in the same situation of being negligent on my blogging. I seem to remember, as well, that I vowed to make this a singular event. However, here I am catching up again! This time of year is particularly busy for me as I start making preparation for the coming year, festival and fayre wise. On this note, I am glad to say we have confirmed on Tiddesley Wood Spring Open Day, 3 Wishes Faerie Festival and Blissfields. We just have to wait on the outcome of Beauiful Days and The Big Chill.
Otherwise, I have been busy working on the house getting the main bedroom and French windows done. We should be ready to sell in time for next Spring. Tree and I are going to take time out for our birthdays this year and we are off next week to Joy and Nige's for a long weekend and to get ourselves on some estate agents lists. In April we are going to Venice for a week to celebrate Tree's 40th. We thought about longer, but a shorter break means we can have a better hotel and will be enough time to see all we want to see. Also, this allows us to go to India, The Maldives or Sri Lanka in the Winter of 2008.
On the health front, I am feeling a lot better now my weight is down by one and a half stone despite the tablets I am taking, which should put half a stone ON me a month as a side effect. The tablets are beginning to kick in and my cholesterol count is normal now. The downside is I will have to take them for the rest of my life. A small price to avoid a stroke or heart attack!
Well, that's about it for a catch up...until next year....

Good News!!!!!
Following up the blog concerning John, the cyclist run over on at Link Top, I can report that he is now home convalescing and is expected to make a full recovery. Taking into account his age (65), and the fact he was hit by no less than two cars, I think this is bloody amazing! Just goes to show how resilient and tough the human body can be, not forgetting self will and determination on his part. Well done John!!!
Otherwise, not much to report. The shop is going slow but sure, which is to be expected at this time of year, and both Tree and I are waiting on certain Festies to get back to us and confirm so I can get on with preparing for them.
We went to the Spring show last Sunday and bought loads of new stock and bought shed loads of crystal on Monday. Ooh I love inventories and price listing.......Not! Oh well, it keeps me busy.

Tree weirdness!!

No, I am not talking about anything that Tree has done but rather about a very unusual Beech tree we found on a walk in Monkwood on Sunday. The tree has, at some time, been coppiced and where it should have several trunks shooting out of the base it has two that are in fact one. At first I couldn't believe that I was seeing what I thought I saw. According to all of my reference books this is not possible for a Beech to do. There is no evidence of two branches grafting together and the lower section is definitely two trunks and not just a large hole, that has expanded over time, in one trunk. I am sending photos off to the Woodland Trust's research centre to see if they have come across this before! I shall post the results here as and when I get them.
The walk was part of our upcoming Imbolc celebration and on that note we wish everyone a Happy Imbolc!!!!!
Feel me now as Maiden.
I am the initiator.
I am the twinkle of an idea.
I am the spark that activates and inspires.
I am the light that illuminates manifestation.
I bring the energy that encourages the sleeping Winter world to begin to stir.
Feel my presence.
I am the spark of life in all things.

Can you believe it ?!?
Whilst I wanted to write something interesting for the New Year, fate has seen fit to make it otherwise. Following on from the previous, blog I have to report attending yet ANOTHER road accident. This time Tree and I were travelling on the A449 just before the M5 Junction 6 when we saw a motorcyclist lying in the road. He had been hit from behind by a man in a BMW who had not seen him in front of him. Tree got talking to the rider, Sam, who seems okay but in shock. He wanted to move but Tree made him stay still until the ambulance arrived. Although we weren't first at the scene, it was amazing how many people were standing around and no-one had phoned the Police. Tree asked a woman to get on her mobile to do this and got a reply of," what number do I dial". Are people careless as well as dense nowadays?Anyway, we left after about half an hour and both driver and rider seemed shocked rather than hurt.
I am so glad I live with someone who is a doer and not a panicker in these situations!

A happy and not so happy New Year.
This was to be a cheerful first blog post of the year, however events last night have tainted it a little. Taking some time out in the first two weeks of January, I have stated to complete the work on the house, ready for selling it. It is good to see things moving again and a light at the end of the tunnel. In addition, I have made loads of mirrors to replace all of the ones I sold at Christmas. By the time we had closed the shop on Christmas Eve I had sold all of my existing stock!
However, yesterday put a bit of a damper on things after work. Tree and I were driving home and, as we came down the Worcester Road off Link Top in Malvern I saw a man lying in the middle of the road. I screeched to a halt and both Tree and I leapt out of the car. Unfortunately, someone driving up the hill didn't see him and ran into him. Chaos ensued as Tree, along with two others, started directing traffic, that was still heading towards him, around to a side road. I ran over to his side and started to assess the situation. He was lying in the recovery position and I checked to see he was conscious. He knew his name but had no idea where he was or what had happened. He was bleeding copiously from his ear and nose, which is not good. After what seemed an age the ambulance arrived and the paramedics took over. The whole time this was going on it was raining hard and everyone was having a hard job keeping the traffic moving and not rubber necking. One person was so impatient with the queue of traffic they pulled out and tried to overtake which would have resulted in another accident. Tree was brilliant, as was everyone, and I was well impressed how we all kept it together. All those years of working in A&E paid off I think!
What seems to have happened is that John, the victim, was cycling down the hill when a car pulled out from the left. He went over the bonnet and up in the air landing on his head on the other side of the road. We arrived just after it had happened but before the second car hit him. The second car DID NOT STOP!!!!!!
As the ambulance took him away we asked how he was and were told it was not looking good. We then had to stick around while the Police closed off the road, top and bottom, as it was now getting much more serious. No-one could remember the make or model of the hit and run car. We gave statements and finally were let go at about 8.30pm, by which time we were soaked to the skin. The man from the car, John initially hit, was distraught and a woman who helped me keep John conscious was in shock as well. Both Tree and I slept uneasily last night and dreamt about what happened over and over.

Beautiful Wytch

As it is almost into minus shopping days to the 25th, I decided to open the shop even though its Sunday. I was not looking forward to doing it and would rather have had a snooze in bed. However, after dragging myself through the fog and ice, I arrived at the Wytch Cutting in Malvern to be greeted with a spectacular view of Bredon Hill poking out through the Dragon's breath that had descended into the valley below. What with the Solstice sunrise yesterday and this display of Mother at her best, I feel full of good expectations for the days ahead.

A Merry Yule and the Solstice sunrise.

I have just got back from the British Camp on the Malvern Hills after watching the Solstice sunrise. I got there at about 7AM to find the whole place in pitch darkness with a heavy fog. Finding my way to the top was eventful to say the least and twice I nearly fell A over T down the hills. My visibility was down to about 3 foot and, having forgotten my hat, freezing as well. I think the first photo of the pathway shows how bad it was. I reached the top and hailed the four watchtowers, hoping that it would warm up and clear a little in time for the sunrise. Just before sunrise I met two people called Anne & Jane who introduced themselves and waited alongside me. The wind by now was picking up and I could feel one side of my body getting number and wetter by the second. Then, slowly, the fog began to clear and a tinge of pink spread across the skyline. We weren't able to see the sun on the horizon but all the same the colours were beautiful. The fog began to lift and the sky was a deep blue behind us. By 9AM we thought we had seen the best of it and retired to lower ground and shared some of Anne's most excellent coffee. All in all, a nice sunrise and, more importantly, a feeling of grounding and a new beginning to the year. It was nice meeting Anne & Jane who, by the way, are from London originally and maybe I shall see them again, either at the shop or on the Hills.
A Merry Solstice to everyone and a Happy New Year.

Too tired to blog!

How time flies, but I don't know about the fun bit. What with the nights drawing in and lack of sleep, I am feeling very tired of late. Tree and I have been out and about a bit which takes its toll (It's me age you see). On Friday we went to a "murder mystery night" over in Ross on Wye. I had the character of Sheik Aleg and Tree was Candy Strunk, I think. Anyway, we all had to get into character, some more than most, and the game ended with me guessing the murderer correctly. It was Harry Houdidme. Its in the name if you think about it.
Saturday night we went bowling with Elliott, Kate, Mike, Torzee and Sandra. It's funny how Elliott, who hated when I taught him in the Y.B.C ( Young Bowlers Club), is now loving a game and correcting everyone else. A chip off the old block!! I enjoyed spending time with him AND having a bit of competition for a change!
Sunday saw Tree and I going to Westonbirt Arboretum to source more wood for signs, which seem to be in more demand than the mirrors at the moment, and to have a bit of a break really. I was so tired by then that I slept all the way home in the back of the car.

Ludlow Medieval Fayre

Tree and I chose to go to the Fayre at Ludlow and see if it was all that it is cracked up to be. We had thought of working this one, but were too late to apply. The layout within the castle grounds was well put together, ensuring everyone was under cover, and had representatives of most crafts. However, Tree and I were not overly impressed by the "Medieval" side to the fayre. Most people had not made much effort to get into the theme of the day and everything looked a bit last minute. But then we went into the side arena and found a couple, called Bryan and Donna, who make ceramic dragons, fay and mystic sculptures. Their work ranges from the fantastic to the humourous. The "smelly butts" incense burners are brilliant. You light an incense cone underneath a bottom, sticking up in the air, and you can guess where the smoke comes out! Needless to say, we bought loads of wholesale stock and found they were people after our own hearts. Bryan has a problem with pricing and Donna sorts out all the negotiating. Who do they sound like? Definitely worth a trip to the shop to see the work we bought.

Squizzer

I can't remember if I have mentioned before, but we have a grey squirrel that lives in the tree at the back of our garden. You can plainly see his dray, now the leaves have fallen, and he regularly comes down for a feed on the nuts that we put out for him. Usually he shoots off before I can get the camera but I was fortunate to have it nearby and got a couple of shots in. He sits on the bracket, by the side of the shed, and then swings down, grabs a nut and swings back up, all in one swift loop. Some would argue about the feeding of grey squirrels but there are a couple of myths attached to them. Firstly, it has been proven that they did NOT account for the decline of red squirrels and, secondly, that they damage trees. True, they will strip the bark from a tree when they are hungry, so my answer is to feed them. So far I cannot see any damage to the Sycamore which proves my point. Sorry the photos are blurry, but he's a quick mover.

Mind the Gap!
No I'm not talking about how Gap exploit children in India, but rather about my trip to the big smoke this weekend just gone. Tree and I decided to get "outta town" for a couple of days and settled on a trip to London. We stayed in Pimlico in a hotel on Belgrave Road, within shouting distance of the centre of London. On Saturday we started the day with a visit to Covent Garden Market and stopped by to see the stall of mirrors, and the man who inspired me to make them in the first place. It was here that I said "I could do that" , to myself, and did! At the time, I was in awe of his work but now I feel the pupil has surpassed the master (Tree's words, not mine).
The performing artists, outside the church, were amusing as ever and we stopped briefly before going on to Govindas, the Khrishna restaurant run by devotees, for lunch and to see the Khrishna temple. The food was exquisite, and Prasadam to boot, and we went upstairs afterwards to buy some incense. We had hoped to go into the temple but the landing outside was packed full of people. I went downstairs and left Tree to try and recover our shoes, from by the doorway, which was a mammoth feat. Some time later, Tree emerged, holding our shoes aloft, and looking red faced and triumphant. We retired to the embankment to watch the Lord Mayor's show but only managed to catch the end of it. This was rounded off with a fantastic display of fireworks, set off from barges on the Thames. We headed back to Covent Garden to see The Lord of The Rings stageplay at The Theatre Royal Drury Lane. The stage set was amazing as it came out of the stage and enveloped most of the boxes and stalls giving the feeling that you were part of the performance, set in Mirkwood or Fangorn! Coming back on the tube, we were the only ones around...very American werewolf in London!
Sunday was a lot quieter for us and we went to the Tate Modern to see Doris Salcedo's Shibboleth. Hence, mind the gap! The work was very powerful, not least by the fact she had actually carved a huge fissure the length of the Turbine hall. My best bit was a litle Dutch boy who rushed up to me and said" careful you don't fall in", which I thought was brilliant.
Also included in the trip were a visit to The Old Baily, Temple Bar, and to see some cool architecture, but I will blog on those another time.

Samhain blessings
Happy Samhain to one and all. Last Saturday we had the party, for Elliotts 21st, round at Sandra's house and decided to go down the horror route as a theme. I was surprised how well thought out some of the costumes were and full marks go to Elliott, Michael, Katie, Torzee and Jermaine. Elliott's mask had the ability to bleed but, due to a leak, managed to drop blood on the kitchen floor. Cool ! Tree cooked up a mean veggie hotdog and later Elliott and I put on a firework extravaganza. The highlight being the Catherine wheel that didn't go round ! All in all we had a good time and Elliott enjoyed himself, which is what it is all about.
Tree and I will be observing a more serious ceremony on Wednesday, but without the costume.
So blessings to everyone and remember to take time to think about what has passed and what will be. Make wishes for the future and honour those that have passed. Light a fire and make herald to the coming gathering in of the light.

Pumpkin Extravaganza and Elliott's 21st birthday

With Samhain just a few days away I have been busy with the preparation for Elliott's 21st birthday party today. He was actually born on Samhain but it was easier to have the party early this weekend. I have carved the first pumpkin and we did a test to make sure it worked as I have cut out the wrong bit before now and messed it all up. I am quite pleased with the result and my next attempt will be to use a three tone design and do a portrait maybe. I have also made a mask using an old gas mask and some odd bits hanging about. The teeth are luminous and the eyes light up from the inside. Again, this is my first attempt at using Fimo and I am happy with the finish. It is a little claustrophobic to wear, with all the wiring inside, but worth the laugh. I am on the look out for a voicebox to add that extra creepy feel to the whole thing. I will do a full post of the party photos in a future blog soon.
